Practice your guitar in front of a mirror. Look at your fretting hand. Can you see your palm? If you can, you're probably not using your hand effectively. Turn it, so all you can see in your reflection is the back of your hand. It increases your finger reach - and that gives your classical guitar-playing skills a massive boost. #classicalguitarshed #guitar #classicalguitar #music #guitartips #practicetip #technique #idealpractice #nopalm #mirrorimage #frettinghand #lefthand

Anti-Semitism in the Arab community, hatred of Arabs among Jews - when it comes to Jewish-Arab dialogue, prejudices often get in the way. Cloud chambers are used to visualize the paths of subatomic particles, and were instrumental in countless scientific discoveries in the early 20th century. Unlike many pieces of scientific apparatus, however, cloud chambers are very easy and inexpensive to build at home, and offer a fascinating and accessible window into the world of particle physics. ClassicalGuitarShed.com can help you on the journey. If you want to rise to new levels in your playing, it just takes time and strategic work. To play classical guitar well, you need to know: * how to hold and touch the guitar - form and positioning * how to move your fingers and hands - efficient, clean, and fluid * how to learn pieces - reading music, understanding what you see, ingraining, polishing * how to craft the music so it is beautiful - swells and fades, rhythm, touch * how to practice so all these skills improve over time and don't go away At the root of beautiful playing is a solid technique (aka “the way your hands move”). You may have beautiful music in your head, but if your hands can't play it, it won't come out of the guitar. But bad technique puts a limit on your playing. Speed, tone quality, and control can suffer. Good technique gets stronger and more instinctive with every practice. It forms the bedrock foundation for your music. And you may want to understand music so you learn it more easily and it makes more sense. This can help you avoid the excess frustration and dismay that comes with shoddy practice and prolonged confusion. But playing the notes is not enough. Like an actor brings words to life, we breathe life into our pieces. And we can do this in an organized way, day in and day out, reliably. Great musicians can play wonderfully in any mood. They do not rely on emotions. Instead, they create music that affects our emotions. This is a trained skill, not an inborn talent. Playing classical guitar is a long-term study. It's something we do in our homes as part of our days. We play for ourselves, for the quality it adds to life. We may enjoy playing guitar for others, but most of the time we are alone with our work. There are methods and formulas for great practice. We can use our time well so that see more progress. We can fix the problems and erase the mistakes. And we can enjoy conquering the plentiful challenges that classical guitar music offers. If you plan to play classical guitar for any length of time, it is worth it to get help. It's not something we can do on our own, like folk music. I have a structured and organized course to help you play classical guitar. If you like, you can learn more and get started here: https://classicalguitarshed.com/membership/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=Music_Theory_All_About_Accidentals_in_Music&utm_content=Rfub6CVhOME If you would like to hear me (Allen Mathews) playing, visit my other youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/allenmathews/

But some signs just seem to rile everyone up. The TRUMP sign on 401 North Wabash in Chicago is one of those signs. Even during the design review phase, the sign was controversial for its size and placement. Then, after its installation, it seems protests and news stories of disgruntled city residence have followed consistently since. In this video, we take a look at why and how buildings signs can be so controversial. Areas like New York's Times Square and Las Vegas are compared to more traditional areas and how each might learn from one another. We also interview Blair Kamin, who had a lot to say about the Trump sign and why folks are so adamantly opposed to its presence along the Chicago River. __Membership__ Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYAm24PkejQR2xMgJgn7xwg/join __About the Channel__ Architecture with Stewart is a YouTube journey exploring architecture’s deep and enduring stories in all their bewildering glory. More and more the cars that we drive are going fully electric, and the cars that they drive… aren’t. That matters, because the real reason F1 gets all this money and attention is that big companies are investing in and advertising their cutting edge tech. If that tech gets outdated, it loses the point - and the extra investment. What is the future of car racing? If it’s electric, does F1 change? Or is someone else going to get there first? Enter Formula E, the all-electric Formula 1. In this video, we explore the future of car racing, explain Formula E’s amazing tech and wild rules, and break down the drama within one of the world’s most popular and expensive sports. Chapters: 00:00 Will Formula 1 go electric? 1:27 What is Formula E? 2:13 How did Formula E start? 3:01 Why isn't F1 electric? 5:30 What are the rules of Formula E? 7:52 What does a Formula E car look like? 9:18 Are F1 cars hybrid? 10:13 Formula E Gen 3: What's new? 11:30 Why don't Formula E cars have rear brakes? 13:36 What is the future of car racing? At the end of the 11th century, West Roman Christianity was spreading out in all directions. The First Crusade set out to recapture the Holy Land from Islamic rule. The Seljuk takeover of the region threatened the local Christian populations, pilgrimages from the West, and the Byzantine Empire itself. It was not a battle of cultures, not a struggle against Islam, but a chaotic confrontation of warlords and princes. 00:00 The Protestant Reformation 29:29 In The Name of Allah 57:15 The First Crusade Welcome to Chronicle; your home for all things medieval history! Here's an easy way to keep your guitar practice on track. The Two-Day Rule. Never skip practice two days running. If you didn't play yesterday, make sure you do some practice today. Even if it's only a few minutes. Or one chord progression. Practicing in your head counts too! Just keep the momentum going. #classicalguitarshed #guitar #classicalguitar #music #guitartips #practicetip #idealpractice #dontskip #momentum #playeveryotherday

MERA25 Italy is now our movement's third national political party. Federico Dolce, MERA25 Italy spokesperson: “We started in Greece, then expanded to Germany, now to Italy. Why? To give hope to Europe. We are creating a solidarity network because, though it’s fought in different places, our battle is the same.” DiEM25’s Yanis Varoufakis was also at the launch of MERA25 Italy – in Rome on November 12. The event at the Acquario Romano also featured MERA25 Germany spokesperson Julijana Zita, and videos from supporters from around the world such as Slavoj Zizek, Brian Eno, Roger Waters and Caroline Lucas. After the collapse of Mario Draghi’s unelected, technocratic government, the failure of traditional left-wing parties at the polls delivered the country’s most right-wing government since Mussolini. The signal sent by voters is clear: current mainstream “progressive” parties have failed to earn their trust, and the time to build an alternative is now. This proven technique works. It's called Proprioception. And our brains love it. To learn a new classical guitar chord shape, simply find the chord, to begin with, then gently bounce your fingers slightly on and off it. It's like loading the pressure, then releasing it. Your chord shapes will quickly become second nature. #classicalguitarshed #guitar #classicalguitar #music #guitartips #practicetip #technique #idealpractice #secondnature #bounce #proprioception #chords #chordfinder
