When it comes to responsibility towards the environment, climate and resources, their approach is pragmatic rather than dogmatic – and one they hope will inspire other restaurant owners to go the zero-waste route. Deciding where a building should go is a complex negotiation of visible and invisible, objective and subjective forces. Architects perform site analysis in order to identify and choreograph all these factors, but which factors do they focus on? This video is a survey (pun intended) of what goes into locating where a building should go on the Earth’s surface. From legal requirements like lot lines and setbacks, to infrastructural concerns like service hookup locations and pedestrian ways, to environmental factors like sunlight and topography, the video goes through how architects and contractors position structures. In addition to reviewing general rules of thumb, the video also includes some important architectural examples like the Casa Malaparte and OMA’s Student Center at IIT to inspire unique ways to approach the subject. __Membership__ Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYAm24PkejQR2xMgJgn7xwg/join __About the Channel__ Architecture with Stewart is a YouTube journey exploring architecture’s deep and enduring stories in all their bewildering glory. Today I've decided to do the Briggs-Raucher reaction, which I think kind of looks like magic. I'll need 3 solutions which I'll call A, B and C. Solution A contains sulfuric acid and potassium iodate. Solution B contains starch, malonic acid, and manganese sulfate. Finally solution C, is just hydrogen peroxide. Now when I mix them together something really cool happens. This is known as the Briggs-Rauscher reaction, and it's one of the very few oscillating chemical reactions. #shorts

In the buildup to the Second World War, both the Allied and Axis nations lived in fear of large-scale poison gas attacks on civilians. Extensive precautions were thus taken against such attacks, including the issuing of millions of specially-designed gas masks to civilians. In this episode, we look a few of the more common masks issued in the British Commonwealth, the United States, and Germany.

A large part of food waste and food loss occurs right after production: fruit and vegetables that are not sold, and therefore not consumed. To prevent them from ending up in the bin, Julie and her partner Faustine have created the organisation L'économe. Insider trading, or the act of buying or selling investments based on nonpublic information, is against the law in the United States and in most countries. At its core, insider trading benefits well connected investors at the expense of the general public and it has been illegal in the US since 1934 – at least for corporate insiders. I made a video a few months ago on the biggest insider trading scandals, and a lot you asked in the comments section “what about politicians”? The STOCK act was passed in the wake of some controversies over stock trades around the financial crisis of 2007-2008. Its purpose was to stop members of Congress from using non-public information derived from their official positions for personal benefit. In March of last year four U.S. senators (Kelly Loeffler, Dianna Feinstein, James Inhofe & Richard Burr) were accused of using insider information about the coronavirus pandemic to profit in the stock market. They dumped their stock holdings, including investments in travel companies, while telling the public to remain calm there was nothing to worry about. All four senators denied wrongdoing, insisting that they acted on public information and news reports and not on non-public information that they had received at senators-only briefings. The Senate Ethics Committee and the department of justice, looked into the matter eventually dropping all investigations without finding any wrongdoing. Are things likely to change? Well, a bipartisan group of lawmakers have introduced a bill called the Ban Conflicted Trading Act banning members of Congress and senior staff from buying and selling stocks, most bonds and options contracts. This is intended to prevent lawmakers and high-level staffers from enriching themselves through trades based on potentially market-moving information. Should Politicians Trade? What should be done about Congressional Insider Trading? Billet wheel turbo: https://bit.ly/3lUQuzO Super affordable turbo: https://www.maxpeedingrods.com/product/gt28-gt25-gt2871-gt2860-t25-t28-sr20-ca18det-upgrade-400hp-turbo-turbocharger.html?tracking=D4A Coupon code: D4A--get 15% discount for all orders. JK Fab video: https://youtu.be/0BJrmBvsdq8 So here we have two MaXpeedingRods turbo chargers. At first glance they look pretty much identical right? They're both "GT28" turbos with nearly identical specs but one costs almost four times as much as the other? Why? Because one is a lot stronger than the other and today we're going to use these two turbochargers as an example to learn what makes a turbo strong and better capable of handling higher boost, more abuse and more racing use. These two turbine housings may look similar but they're made of completely different materials. The low cost turbine housing is made from nodular iron while our other turbo has a stainless steel turbine housing. Now stainless steel is definitely the superior choice for a turbine housing due to two main reasons. Reason one is that it has a higher temperature resistance and reason two is that it offers better resistance to oxidation. Now we're moving onto the compressor housing. Now both of these compressor housings are made from the same material ZL104 aluminum. The compressor housing together with the compressor wheel comprises the cold side of the turbo and obviously it never sees temperatures anywhere near of what the turbine housing sees which is why temperature resistance is much less of a factor on the cold side. The zl104 is the alloy name according to the Chinese GBT standard and the ISO equivalent is AlSi10Mg. This is a pretty nice aluminum alloy traditionally used for casting. As aluminum alloys go It's a pretty tough alloy with good hardness and good strength. Because of it's good casting properties it's ideal for cast parts with thin walls and/or a complex geometry – of which compressor housings are a clear example. Both of these compressor wheels are aluminum, but this one is cast and this one is MFS, or machined from solid. In other words this is a billet compressor wheel. So why is this one better? It's better because of the same reason anything billet or forged is better than anything cast when it comes to automotive applications and it all comes down to the internal grain structure of the part. The grains structure refers to the size and orientation of the little microscopic individual grains that make up a chunk of something. This size and orientation of these grains depends on the type of the material but also on the way a material is made and parts grain structure ultimately plays a key part in it's strength. The more uniform it is the better. Although casting has come a long way it is still impossible to prevent a relatively random grain structure with cast parts and it's also difficult to guarantee there will be no internal porosity with casting, especially with low-tech methods. On the other hand the billet process is completely different. It starts out with a solid chunk of metal that has been previously forged or extruded giving it a good grain structure and then you simply machine away whatever you don't need from that chunk giving you a finished part of the desired shape with the preserved grains structure of the initial billet. Now both of these turbos are pretty identical inside and are full floating journal bearing turbos. Now I do plan to make a detailed comparison video between ball bearing turbos and journal bearing turbos in the future so for now I will say that although many people prefer ball bearings and they do offer faster spool and are ultimately a superior choice in many aspects there are still significant benefits to be had from journal bearings. Journal bearings need more oil which means that they ultimately help the cooling of the core and when everything is running properly journal bearings can last infinitely as they are a no contact bearing, they ride on a film of oil which also means they can be very effective at absorbing abuse and vibrations making them pretty handy in racing scenarios. So what are the the lessons we can learn from this? Well it's actually pretty simple. The more extreme your application and the more boost you want the more heat resistance and mechanical strength you will need. The Amazon Basics range includes two Boomboxes (CD, Radio, Cassette). I bought them so you don’t have to. Here’s my review. Here’s an Amazon UK AFFILIATED link - but I’d recommend watching the video first https://amzn.to/2VmpY7P At the time of typing the Panasonic RX-D50 & D55 are still available in Europe via Amazon.DE - Here’s a link https://amzn.to/3xxDKBk - also on AMAZON US https://amzn.to/3xwikVp There's also the Sony CFD-S70 - that's probably the last best one still available outside Japan after the Panasonic models have disappeared. I do think the speakers let it down though, it's lacking in bass. A) Patrons https://www.patreon.com/techmoan usually have early access to videos. I'll show the first version of a video on Patreon and often the feedback I get results in a video going through further revisions to improve it. e.g. Fix audio issues, clarify points, add extra footage or cut extraneous things out. The video that goes live on youtube is the final version.

Or have foreign journalists brought this upon themselves through their own reporting? In today's video we break this down and most importantly provide an easy solution to fix the problem.
