Hoe klinkt een concert onder water? Dat is wat tientallen bezoekers zondag zullen ervaren in het Marnixbad. AT5 was aanwezig bij de generale repetitie. Het gaat om een project van Pak Yan Lau, Thomas Jaspers en Herman van den Muijsenberg. "Hoe de materialen onder water reageren is heel verschillend. Soms horen we ineens allemaal geluiden dat we denken, wow, geen idee dat je dat onder water hoort", legt Jaspers uit. Gefascineerd door Amerikaanse kunstenaar 48 jaar geleden vond er in het Marnixbad een soortgelijk onderwaterconcert met fluitjes plaats. Het ging toen om een installatie van de Amerikaanse kunstenaar Max Neuhaus. Van den Muijsenberg zegt dat hij daardoor de afgelopen twee jaar gefascineerd was. Bij beide concerten komen zondag elk veertig bezoekers. Zij gaan zelf ook het water in en kunnen verschillende posities kiezen, want het geluid klinkt volgens de kunstenaars overal anders. "Het is geen lasershow, het is niet spectaculair, het is geen poolparty, het is echt werken met de ambiance die we rond ons hebben en de fysische krachten die wij als mens hebben", zegt Lau. Van den Muijsenberg: "Het is bijna een meditatieve ervaring, zou je kunnen zeggen."
